Clomiphene is a medicine used by women for fertility. It is non-steroidal in nature. It makes pituitary gland to release hormones needed for the stimulation of ovulation.

Warnings

Clomiphene must not be used if you are already pregnant

Do not use clomiphene tablets if you are suffering from any liver disease, abnormal vaginal bleeding, thyroid disorder or uncontrolled adrenal gland, an ovarian cyst or if you are already pregnant

Things to consider before starting the dose of clomisign tablets uk

Do not use clomisign 50mg if you experience any of the following

• Abnormal vaginal bleeding
• Ovarian cyst which is not related to polycystic ovary syndrome.
• Any current or past medical history of liver disease.
• Any kind of tumor or pituitary gland
• Thyroid / uncontrolled problem with adrenal gland
• if you are going through pregnancy

• Speak to your doctor if you have endometriosis or uterine fibroids.

Clomiphene uk tablets may pass through breast milk and harm baby. This drug also has the tendency to reduce the milk production in some women. Do inform your doctor if you have infant and is breast feeding.

Do not use Clomisign tablets for more than 3 treatment cycles. It may increase chances of getting ovarian cancer. It is always advised to speak to your doctor before starting the dose of fertility tablets

Increased doses of clomiphene can have adverse effect on vision which may not get cured or a condition called ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). It is a life-threatening condition. Some of the symptoms are abdominal pain, nausea, bloating, trouble breathing and weight gain.

If you go through fertility treatment, there are chances that you may get twins or triplets. This is high risk for both mother and baby. Consult your doctor for the risk involved in it.

How should I take clomiphene?

Clomiphene 50mg should be taken orally with a glass of water exactly as per recommendation from a doctor. Read the label of the medicine carefully before starting the dose. Clomiphene side effects

Rush to your doctor if you have any allergic reaction and notice certain side effects such as difficulty in breathing, hives, swelling in throat, tongue, lips or face.

Some women may develop OHSS (ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome). It can be life threatening. Some of the symptoms of OHSS are

• Bloating.
• Nausea

• Weight gain
• Breathing problem and pain in throat

Stop the use of clomiphene tablets and call your doctor if:

• You have pelvic pain or pressure or enlargement in your pelvic area.
• Blurred vision
• floaters
• increased sensitivity of your eyes to light
• you have Vaginal bleeding.

Dosing information

Usual Adult Dose for Ovulation Induction:

The standard dose is 50mg once a day for 5 days starting from the last day of menstrual period. It can also be started any time depending on the prescription from your doctor.

In case ovulation does not occur even after taking 3 treatments of 50mg, one can take dose of Clomifene 100mg. The increase in dose can be started after 30 days of initial dose of 50mg
